Do I find myself saying “yes” because I need approval or acceptance? Can I say “no”? There are many people today who have an addiction to approval and acceptance. They literally cannot say “no” to anything, or at least without a great deal of struggle.
If you found yourself faced with being caught out at night in the middle of an unexpected storm with the rain coming down in torrents and the lightning exploding across the sky, obscuring you vision as the sound of thunder and pouring rain and the windshield wipers going back and forth make it nearly impossible to think – what would be the best thing for you to do?
We all have routines. Actually, we are creatures of habit and routine. We find security in routines because it is predictable. We drive to work the same way, men start shaving at the same spot and in the same way, and usually at the same time. You have a routine of where and how you brush your teeth. It is amazing how many things in our lives are already entrenched in routines. But that’s alright. It keeps us productive and helps us stay organized.
