Who We Are

Our History

The Independent Assemblies (IA) was born out of a need for fellowship among ministers and churches in the late 1950s. Pastor John W. Keith moved to Ada, Oklahoma to become pastor of an independent church in 1954. Shortly after, he began meeting with other pastors of non-denominational churches. The IA was established when Pastor Keith and four other leaders met to discuss the future of pastors and churches. These leaders settled on three main values: 1) To encourage and add value through fellowship opportunities. 2) To support world missions together. 3) To provide spiritual oversight.
