Join the Fellowship

We’re excited that you’re interested in joining the Independent Assemblies Fellowship! There are a few things to note about the process. After you mail the application and fees, please allow 4-6 weeks for processing and board review. At this point, you will receive confirmation of approval or non-approval status.

Individual Applications

Whether you’re a seasoned leader or just starting in ministry, the Independent Assemblies has a three-level license structure to most appropriately reflect your experience. If you have never held credentials with the IA or let your credentials expire, use the credentials application link below. If you are a current member looking to apply for the next level of licensure, use the advancement application link below.

1. Exhorter's License: A lay person who is qualified and certified to teach, visit the sick, minister in hospitals and jails, as well as assist in many of the functions of the church.

2. Licensed Minister:
One who is qualified for evangelism, teaching, administrating, and in some cases, the pastorate (including the performance of marriage).

3. Ordained Minister:
One who is a properly educated and/ or trained minister with proven practical experience. (This is the highest credential offered).

Member Church and Not-for-Profit Ministry
Member churches and Not-for-Profit ministries currently in good standing are under the covering of the Independent Assemblies 501(c) (3). Before applying, please read these requirements for organizing your ministry.

Fellowship Church
Fellowship churches that have a 501(c) (3) are not listed on the annual report to the I.R.S. However, they still have all membership privileges.
